How we verify every offer on NichePerks

Most coupon directories publish stale codes and call them “verified.” We don’t. Every offer on NichePerks carries an explicit verification status, a last-checked date, and a confidence score derived from a published formula. Here’s exactly how it works.

Our verification labels

Each offer is tagged with one of these statuses. We use them consistently across every brand page.

LabelWhat it means
Brand verifiedThe brand themselves published the offer (welcome flow, brand newsletter, official landing page, or direct partner submission).
Network verifiedThe offer was loaded by the brand into an affiliate network (Skimlinks, Sovrn, Awin, CJ, Impact, Refersion, Shopify Collabs).
Official public sourceSpotted on a brand-owned page (homepage banner, footer, product page) that we link to as our source.
Recently workedA real shopper (often the founder personally) confirmed the code worked in the last 14 days.
Community submittedA shopper submitted the code and it’s currently in our verification queue.
UnverifiedWe found the offer but can’t yet attest to it. Treat with skepticism; verify at checkout.
Likely expiredMultiple recent failure reports or known expiration past today.
ExpiredConfirmed dead. We surface a few of these on each brand page for SEO long-tail, clearly labeled.

Our confidence formula

Every active offer gets a 0–100 confidence score. The formula is public so you can audit our reasoning:

SignalPoints
Brand-verified or network-verified status+40
Seen on a brand-owned source (URL recorded)+20
User reported success in the last 14 days+15
Attributed conversion occurred after click+15
Known expiration date+10
Failed report in the last 14 days−20
Not checked in 30+ days−15

What the score means on the page

We show both the raw score and a plain-English tier on every offer:

ScoreTier shownRecommended action
80–100Highly likely to workApply at checkout with confidence.
60–79Recently verifiedApply at checkout; report back if it failed.
30–59Recently worked, verify at checkoutReal recent report; confirm before paying.
< 30Needs verificationWe’re still confirming — treat as exploratory.

What we will never do

  • Invent a code. If we don’t have a verified source, the page reads “Offer in research,” not a made-up string.
  • Strip your existing affiliate link. No browser extension. No silent attribution swap. You’re on a website, in control.
  • Rank by commission. Brand and category pages are ordered by verification, shopper fit, and offer quality — not by what pays us best.
  • Surface big-box retailers. NichePerks exists to help shoppers discover emerging brands. We don’t list Amazon, Walmart, Target, or Nike.

Did a code fail?

Use the “Did this code work?” widget on any brand page. Failure reports immediately reduce that offer’s confidence score, and we re-check within 48 hours. You can also email us directly.

For brands & partners

If you operate a brand we feature and want to add a verified offer, fix a detail, or submit a controlled first-order code, use the submit-a-brand form or reach out at [email protected]. We give D2C brands controlled, first-order or cashback-only placements — never spammy bottom-of-funnel listings.
